Unless it has been changed recently. the fabled dirge hat (from VP i'm assuming you mean) looks just like the EoF fabled hat. And both look like complete crap. blue waffle hats ftl.
I have not looked it up recently however, so it could have been changed from beta.
If you want to see for yourself do this:
1) EverQuest II LootDB - EQ2 item database with mob and zone information
2) look up Lamenting Ballads
3) click the copy icon for the coif
4) paste in game send as a tell or channel message
5) click on link and there you go.

woot thanks can a raid dirge show a pic of there eof aa's i already know what i want for kos (raid leader is makeing me go gay dance and dktm) I just want to see a pic of some1's eof with 70 plz !

not much to pick from,
i went the usual in the luck line (no crappy safefall or nox wards) spending 21 points there
after that i went max degredation line 30 points there (51 points spent) (went only 4 points in the strength debuff so i could get magnetic note)
and spent
5-5-3-5-1 (fear on the lowest and not sure if that was 5-3-5-5 or the other way around, figured that the daze would give me a tad more damage cause it got damage attached to it as the fear, on pvp it might be a bit better to spec fear instead of daze tho, because there wont be much difference between them and fear could help out a little there) in the control line for magnetic note (70 points spent)

edit:
just to add ya can also minimize the degredations line and focus on the life and death line, its your pick really, as long as ya get the most important debuffs maxed (daro's, shriek, mit debuff is also nice )

Has the enhance Daro's always required the stat reduction debuff. I am getting close to finally having my original 100 AA done, just maxxed the mitigation AA and noticed I couldnt get it. Is it a bug or why is there even a line connecting the two of them?
