Default Chaincasting?

This question is mainly for Kall... since I know he's a really good dirge, but if anybody else that knows what they're talkin about, feel free to chime in.

Is it better to always have a spell or CA qeued up and basically chaincast? or should i be trying to leave a small delay in between somewhere? Theres times when i always have a spell or CA ready to fire off w/ no time in between the whole fight and do pretty good damage, then theres other times where i do the same thing and my parse sucks. I tried to leave a little space here and there to get in my autoattacks but that fluctuated too... so I have no idea what the best way to do this is. I've been trying to get my ZW over 2k, but its just not happening until I figure out exactly what i should be doing. Any help?

Pretty much what Loudness said and you don't have to "pause" to accomplish swinging between casting.

because our dammage is highly "low %" dependent (we have reasonable low % to crit/da etc) we will never see really constant dammage output. Instead the one fight I parse like a goddess with a nasty fiery whip...and the next I parse like a snail brandishing a leave.

(okok, not that bad....nor good....got carried away I guess)

QFE - when the rng isn't loving you you're going to parse low but when those die fall in your favour

If you are chain casting combat arts, like if you stealth+grim strike, then CA, then CA then CA then CA, there will be a sufficient amount of a pause from the queue of the next CA that your auto attacks will land regardless.

Timing auto attacks on big abilities is always needed. If you have a 4 second delay weapon, 60ish haste, and your attack time is down below 3.3 seconds, then any spell that's 3.5s+ casting time needs to or should be held off on until the auto attack fires. Take Wail of the Banshee for example. Uber dps from that spell, but it is condusive to wait until a auto attack fires before casting the spell.

The only spells we have that are longer than 2 seconds cast are our resurrects - I would fire them as soon as they are needed regardless of my dps cycles.

The only spells I really pay any mind to my auto swings on are Banshee and Stealth -> Garsin's//Scream of Death. I try to use them right after I see an auto attack so as not to delay my next one.

Delaying your Autoattack DO you mean turning them on and off like a ranger does?

Delaying your autoattack means your autoattack is ready to fire when you're in the middle of casting a 2s spell, hence it gets delayed until the spell finishes.
