I am currently leveling a Troub as my new main (level 46 atm) and doing respectable dps. I plan on raiding with my troub once I hit 80 but I had some questions regarding our dps since RoK came out.

In general, do we parse similarly to equally well-equipped dirges? Does one of the bard classes have an edge over the other in the personal dps department? Any troubs able to compare parses of themselves vs dirges in their raids?

troubs and dirges are very similar in raid dps output. troubs might/probably have the edge, but it will depend on group set up in the end. (for raiding)

both troubs and dirges do not do scout dps...so if dps is your thing.....stop now and reroll.

- same raid force, appropriate group set-up
- equal player skill with respective class

then, based on my experience:
troubadour potential dps is slightly higher than dirge potential dps.

but if dps is your only concern, you might want to try a different class.

If the troubador is in the mage group (as they should be) and the mages give him/her all their melee buffs, they will out dps a dirge without any problems. I'm sure its less situational than i'm saying (see above posts) but to give you an idea of the range: my highest parse is somewhere around 2800ish on trash epics in ideal circumstances and our troubador can parse in the 3700 range or more which makes me want to cry IRL and cast "Emotional Dirge" sometimes. Then again it also depends on the quality of the gear/weapon/knowledge the person has.

We run one troub in the mage group of course and he parses mid 3k. The dirges end up in the mid 2k. unless people decide to start dieing and need rezzed.....

This is trash mobs btw.

Do you have a parse you can show me cause if they are parsing that high then my guilds troub sucks hard! shes normally parsing around 900

I'm in the same guild as kyros/madrat and our troub certainly does hit 4k often on trash.
