Exactly. The other thing is if you are just starting out and aren't geared medium to high, its still iffy depending on the length of the fight. Typically only some raid mobs offer more than 2 to 3 minutes, and you probably wouldn't run out in that time, and if you do, then you should run it...

Thanks much for the replies. I took off my power regen while soloing and when i grouped with some folks (1 of whom was an illusionist) and it worked great.

I got in the mindset early on that i needed to ALWAYS have that up...glad for advice.

Kinda amused by some of the posts... As far as raids go, i specifically ask my tank what he wants.. my group setup usually works like this

Power Ballad ( no illus coercer obv )
Athletic Strain m1 ( 100 str/agi is quite a nice damage boost/ avoidance boost for the tank )
Hyrans- Only if necessary, and depending on group makeup, sure ill through this in if im in an all guild group, mythicals > instance tanks..
Dead Calm- with look of the dirge and my mystic that i run with, this thing procs at m1 22% of the time,
Rhiana's

Raid setup,
Athetlic Strain
Power Ballad ( as needed )
Hyrans (as needed )
Parry ( as needed )
Otherwise its the same thing.. its really ridiculous to say hey these are the slots i use, i mean with the VP set bonuses i guess its a bit more apparent, but theres way to many iffy different factors that change your conc setup

I agree with Borias here: if your tanks don't need your Hate buff, your raids are slacking on the dps.

I'm typically in a Scout dps group, so here's what I run:
Power Ballad (taken down last raid when we got a Coercer shuffled into our group to see if what you all say is true)
Athletic Strain
Weapon Boon
Rianna's Indignant Sustain
Dead Calm

If I there's a need for some off-tanking, and the RL throws the SK and me together:
Power Ballad
Athletic Strain
Weapon Elusion
Rianna's Indignant Sustain
Hyran's Seething Sonata
*If I was put in the MT group, I would equip the gear that gives the free Percussion of Stone slot as well.

I'd still switch out Athletic Strain for Weapon Boon even without the 6 set bonus. On raids, unless you're ridiculously overbuffed on weapon skills, it's gonna help your dps more with accuracy than by buffing your str.

Why would you run parry over percussion in the OT group?

Just my thoughts as a former OT, Kall~ +47 to Parry (+53 at Master I) is a huge boost to your (uncontested) avoidance. I'd rather have that than the 11% chance to proc a Stoneskin myself.

Of course it's situational like someone said. I mean if the OT is gettin owned, I'll throw up Percussion of Stone as well and have them both running. If on the other hand he's tanking heroic adds, I won't even put up Weapon Elusion. Depends on the fight.

So Weapon Boon > Athletic Strain ?

Pure parry like that provided by elusion is contested, it scales to level con of the mob. Stoneskin provides a much much much better defensive buff.

As the MT my aggro depends alot on my ability to hit the mob, therefore Weapon Boon is always very high on my Wish List

Especially when fighting hard mobs that force you into defensive stance which gives -melee skills.

My Wish List:
Hyran's (Master II of course ;) )
Percussion of Stone
Riana
Weapon Boon
Dead Calm

With free PoS Athletic Strain or Screeching Elusion would be next, depending on the fight.

Group Setup is Guardian, Templar, Defiler, Swashbuckler, Dirge, Coercer.

If you run with a Warden instead of the Coercer, you can let him buff MT melee skills, but then you have to turn on Power Ballad, so there is no real gain ;)
