I'm amazed that your raid doesn't challenge your tank enough to not merit the aggro song. Yesterday on some trash mob our paladin with trak shield, dirge, and coercer lost aggro to me once or twice, with my choker on, and forgetting to deaggro while keeping the signet of wtf aggro betrayal on. If you aren't making your tank work hard to keep aggro, you aren't doing enough as a raider.

Now, with that in mind, maybe putting hyrans on an unsuspecting member of your party is ALWAYS worth it. ;) Especially if you can convince an aggro transfer guy to play along with it.

I'm not a MT dirge so I rarely have the hate song running. Typically I'm in a MA group so I ask the 'Zerker what he wants. Most frequently it is: stone, Athletic Strain, Calm, Weapon boon & Riana's

..:interesting:..
Not MT grp:
Weapon Boon
Dead Calm
Athletic Strain
Power Ballad - Unless I have an illy or coecer, then no
Death's Edge
Riana'a Indigniant Sustain
Percussion of Stone - Since i have my 2 set-No when i didnt have 2 set

In MT grp:
Riana'a Indigniant Sustain
Athletic Strain
Death's Edge
Hyran's Seething Sonata
Percussion of Stone
Weapon Boon(No without 2 set)
Screeching Elusion

Thats what i tend to run with. Even in OT grp i drop Power Ballad cuz luckily my guild runs with a few illys and coecer.

I tend to run athletic strain as my last place buff, or if for some reason im in an off dps group and i dont need nox ward.

Usual setup on typical fights:

Percussion(free)
Hyrans(tank)
Weapon Boon
Riana's
Weapon Elusion
Dead Calm

Power Ballad-depending on the encounter
Noxious Tempo- if in offgroup on any mob with a nox hit
Athletic Strain if nothing else to put up. 100 str just doesn't strike me as worth it most of the time.

MT Dirge for my guild, generally run two setups for trash and boss mobs.

Trash:
Hyran's
Boon
Dead Calm
Riana's
Athletic Strain
PoS (2 piece bonus)

Boss:
Hyran's
Boon
Riana's
Power Ballad
Weapon Elusion
PoS (2 piece bonus)

I have a coercer in my group so power management is not a concern. I mostly run power ballad on boss fights for the tank since he burns through power very fast.

Honestly I don't run power regen song very often anymore, as its just not worth it. Even without a coercer. Only on boss fights where we don't have a coercer or mythical mystic in group will I run the power song. I guess its personal preference and raid gear level to be honest.

great post (so good i had to register to ask a question here)

I ASSumed a dirge would always keep power regen buff up at all times, but seeing these posts has me rethinking that.

My question is if power regen song is suppose to stack with a coer/illus why would we still not run ours for the added power regen?

thanks again for the info guys

Torkil - It's best to use your judgement. If you see that the enchanters are keeping your power full (via trial and error), then why use a spell that's not doing anything for you? Use if needed basically.

It stacks up to a certain point. It's just redundant. The main source of power regen is an enchanter's epic and items with manaweave proc or pondwash or manawell so adding more power per tic is pretty useless.

Why would you need more power regen when you're never below 90%?
