Agreed, a very nice chunk of damage, and the recast isnt too bad either. I've been using it quite a lot in PUGs recently and it seems to get aggro off me about 95% of the time, for about a second before I manage to pull it back again

EM also has an impressive range. It really helps on those distance fights.

Chimes of Blades is probably one of the most useful physical DPS enhancers in-game. Getting this M1 for most group/raid dirges will be beneficial to say the least. It is one of my few masters.
-Do not overlook the attack speed of this ability, M1 increases attack speed by 64
-Harmonic Museweave BP is a big must for this spell(30% proc chance)
-Do not overlook items that increase the length of songs or other boosts CoB in any way
Useful Items for CoB:

\aITEM -1411054961 -1607529131:[Bracers of Deadly Melody]\/a
- can be brought cheap off the broker

\aITEM -162668698 -1962696521 -6498548:[Drum of the Ethernaut Chronicler ]\/a
- TSO signature line reward

\aITEM -1222787454 2068254531 1541365736:[Harmonic Museweave Hauberk]\/a
- T2 shard armour BP TSO

\aITEM 1848297309 -1169897850:Coat of the Requiem\/a
- The T7 3 set bonus, most pieces drop in MMIS

\aITEM -1432096756 1741699701:Vocal Rift Wrists\/a
- T3 shard armour, 4 set bonus (also on VP 4set)

\aITEM -1478755540 1371701413:Lamentation of the Intrepid\/a
- Raid-wide CoB (our ‘Mythical’, after completing fabled, kill Pawbuster, Mayong [either will do] and then Xygoz in VP [need to kill Levithian in CoD for Access])
I'd just like to point out that the Requiem gear is a bit of an outdated misnomer for Chimes, as it only mods t7 Cacophony, not Chimes.

Related to this though, has anyone considered being squishy and sporting Requiem while digressing to Cacophony until they get four t8 patterns? We have enough dirges to keep it chain cast during raids without the set bonus but, the thought crossed my mind the other night with PUGing and looking at my old gear.

Does anyone believe that a few seconds of song extension is worth sporting the crap bracers and drum? I've been toying with it but, I'm undecided. If you have three dirges then thwi but, rolling with two or less? I quickly glanced through the threads and apologize in advance if this has already been tabled and would appreciate a link if so.

It's probably still a bad idea because the EoF set is ridiculously out dated vs easily obtainable items like the Harmonic Set.

The drum isn't crap, it's the best ranged item in the game. It's not hard to automate swapping a bow in.

The bracers are a piece of shit though and shouldn't be used unless you have your epic, a ton of double attack/crit procs, and for some reason don't have the Contested Mayong Bracers or Dark Void ones. The bracers also only modify items/spells where the Drum modifies CAs and Abilities as well as items/spells, which is a huge plus for the drum.

I understood the first couple sentences. Can you clarify some of your variables? Are 43%, 57%, 72%, 28%, 272, 429 arbitrary numbers? If so, why was 43%, 57%, 72%, 28%, 272, 429 chosen? I'd like to understand this. I don't understand the equation syntax.
Welp, nobody answered so eventually I found the answer after stumbling across a thread that was on the official EQ2 forums.

Now with Weapon DR calculation! : Critical Damage and You ... A guide to critical damage.

Enjoy!!

LATE EDIT : My apologies for the late edit; however, figure i should share info that came to my attention in the Brigand forum.

Game Update #50
Quote:
Combat arts will now properly use the max damage + 1 as the minimum critical amount when attacking an npc. PvP combat arts will still use damage time the critical multiplier.

Yea was only referring to the bracers as crap and with my mythical I've been popping back and forth with...
Vacuous Chainlinked Bracers
\aITEM 1112459995 -1851545788:Vacuous Chainlinked Bracers\/a
...until I get something better. My real goal is Lamenting but, do you think it's worth going back and getting Star Darkened Bracers?

Got into this expansion late so, I'm still working on the signature quest and plan to have my drum soon. I've been wondering, can the drum be adorned with a fabled +DPS adornment?

On a side note: Speaking of drums... I'm so sick of running Manor I think I may rage quit if my Mistmoore Battle Drums don't drop by the end of the week.

requiem gear IS outdated, no doubt about it. Sorry for the late reply btw...

but this isn't just for 'top of the top' level 80 dirges, but is in fact for all dirges, and one would assume in the time period of levelling from 70 to 80, that they could attain requiem via PURs etc.

Drum is best attainable ranged item in game. +1 spell crit is the best adornment (9 times out of 10)

I think it's worth going back for star darkened bracers as they are the best bracers you can get really, apart from T3/T4 (not checked T3 personally as MOST people who can get them can get their T4, if not ALL people).

I have, however, got a dilemma for you guys, thought I would share it.

I am capable of acquiring T4 and T3 boots. obviously, T4 boots have better stats (same with gloves, both are attainable for me...). I currently have T3 4 set (gloves, helm, legs, chest), but anyways, am I right in assuming the extra conc slot from PoS outweighs the 5 set bonus on T3?

just a lil niggle

cheers!
