if everything you said was correct then no one would complain.... a good amount of the things you mentioned in your post are true and good for dirges that didnt know, to know. but when theres something way off in a post telling people how to play a dirge, well it needs to be corrected.

You don't see me posting on your posts kall with abuse, because there's just no point.

if you could do a better job, why isn't there already a post like this stickied?
There's no point abusing Kall because he isn't wrong very often. Secondly there's no post like this because a whole lot of this is common sense, and too many of the things you said are wrong. You can't expect to make a post like this, without being an expert, and while being "tired" and not expect to see some corrections that are a little on the negative side.

That being said this post is a good idea because despite the fact that every dirge should already know 90% of this shit I feel bad for nubs sometimes...

Certain things need to be added: Dieties, Adornments, What mods to focus on for DPS(DA vs MC vs SC), Cast order(or provide a link to the old CO thread), Knowing other classes and what they give you, The list goes on...
AND
You shouldn't just assume that if and when you put up this information, it is correct. In many cases no information is infinitely better than bad information. I'd rather have a dirge guess and have a 50% chance of assuming he should run Tomb's over Athletic than to be certain he should run Athletic because someone who didn't know what they were talking about told him to. Send PMs to Kall, ask Dirges on your server or in the WW Dirge channel about some things before you assume you hit the nail on the head.

Bro, common sense is an oxymoron since the sense is learned from time instead of innate instinct especially when it comes to game mechanics. Sure, most of this is common sense to players who are hardcore in the Dirge realm since they have spent the time.

I completely appreciate Kall and this dude for taking the time to help inform folk. Furthermore, the author never stated he is not open for correction.

Players will not know this information if they have never even created a Dirge. I wish there were more detailed guides like this with every character class since "time is money". I hate playing a character class when I later realize the class is not my style. This guide supplementing Kall's info should inform beginners quite well.

Everything is open to interpretation. The correct interpretation is the most pursuasive interpretation. Therfore, calling a fella an "idiot" or some variant in response for not knowing ABC is bad information in part of the responder.

I hope this dude, in addition to helpful responders, does well with his attempt to the guide,. I would do it except for the amount of hours required to create and maintain such a guide.

good luck man!

Hope Valna post did not go missed by speed readers. I am curious about this as well. Might be helpful for this guide as a note to readers.

Organize the buffs requiring conc as others have said. i.e. Riana's should ALWAYS be up. State that in your post.

/agreed.

I'd suggest taking a look at Daray's Wizard Guide. He put together something similar to what you're working on, his organization and visuals I think make it much more accessible to someone who hasn't played the class before.

This is a good start though, with some of the other players that have a full understanding of the mechanics helping you, I look forward to seeing the final product.

Nice work on this. When I saw it I figured I would register and see if I could pass anything along.

Myself, I haven't used Hyran's since TSO dropped, 'nuff hate to go round (guess we'll see how this works out down the road, but for now ts a waste of a conc spot for me)...And as for Power Ballad, (besides the fact that the name reminds me of those late-night TV commercials hawking CD's of big hair bands) I think i've used it maybe 5x in my career as a dirge...now maybe if it were a power proc, that'd be cool, but still dunno if i'd use it...

But then alot revolves on what you are rolling with in your raid. I constantly have an Illy + Mystic in my group (OT), so power is a non-issue. Even if the Illy gets moved for a bit, we still have Spirit Tap.

Confront Fear is definately a plus, as I am one of the main rezzers.

As far as conc spots, really the only thing i'm changing out is b/w Boon and Nox Tempo if called for.

And for AA, other people have it on point, strengthened links, etc...Take note, the 2 points in bard is Selo's, and the 2 in dirge are Deathly Howl, a topic of consternation for me ever since i made 200 AA's. but i've had 200 for over a month now, and i need to let go of a nicer run speed , so I've put in an after setup for when i change it. Today. (srsly hehe)
Scout: 0 5 5 0 0 0 1
Bard: 0 5 5 2 0 5 1 After: 0 5 5 0 0 5 1
Dirge: 5 0 0 2 5 5 1 1 After: 5 0 0 4 5 5 1 1

My DPS has not suffered in any way, has only become better, working with myth, marrow's, 2-piece vp (shoulder, leg) and our guild is currently on 3 pieces of TSO, of which i have 2 (forearm, foot) Haven't won 3rd yet, but soon. AutoAttack is crucial, and there is good information here about CO.

And no, i don't have points in Sacrificial Oration, and here's why: Our healers are pretty on point, my Speech of... is mastered, and it can be cancelled as easily as it was cast.

And that's my 2cp, if anything, put it in the beer fund
