Default Shadow Tree AAs

I know there have been quite a few posts on the Shadow AA's and what people planned to take..

Now we've had these a while - would you say there is a consensus of what is best?

For myself I plan on storing up a defensive version in my mirror with my BD spec - only to be dragged out when the pleading gets too much ;p

For generally running around soloing and grouping, I plan to take everything offensive to try and max out mine and everyone else's DPS.

I think I'm fairly clear on what I plan to take - but the only question I really have is over the first line - does any of that really make a difference, or is it a case of bunging 10 points anywhere you fancy to enable the 2nd line?

God I'm a noob: I didn't count them and assumed there were ten on each line so you had no choice. Not at home now - how many are there on each line?

all right on except that part, you'd waste points by putting it in the defense debuff or selos? keep the 4 in howl of death, the casting speed bonus and dmg boost makes it worth casting now..

Selos has its uses I guess, but I'd have to agree that making Howl of Death a worthwhile spell is better for DPS, not that its gonna be a very noticeable increase...

Its still going to be the last thing I cast. Which means on the majority of fights its getting cast 0 - 2 times. Disease Mastery already lowers the cast time enough to squeeze it in. (If you have 12 tone your maxed cast speed on it an any disease spells anyways) 15% increased damage in unnoticeable as far as any zw is concerned.

Im not sure what the effect raidwide on the increase to defense reduction but Ill take a 50% increase damage to something I use all the time over the 15% to some thing I never use.

And since both of em are pretty useless as far as increasing your parse, why not take the convienience of Selos

selos is just wasted aa, sure you dps may not go up much by chosing the other but in no way would selos benefit more as a raider, it wont. and btw 12 tone only affects ca's not howl of death and other disease spells....

I am still yet to see a damn 12-tone drop so cant say for sure but I always assumed it was a straight cast speed increase for spells and CAs but I'll take your word on it. Either way I think you need 100 cast speed to get the maxed 50% cast time so I was wrong anyways.

My point was that there are a few options for that last 4 points depending on your play style. The difference between any one of the 3 isn't going to make or break your raid, parse, or whatever else.

Personally I have a BD spec on my mirror so I have the points in Selos because its convenient for soloing, grouping, and what little travel is left in the game. Plat is pretty easy to come by now a days but Im not wasting 10 everytime I have to run accross a big zone. If you want to min/max to the extreme then one of the other 2 is better. That's why I listed 3 options.

No it doesn't. It's 25% casting speed so it affects everything.
