Default Weapon Boon

Or whatever it's called. Anyone explain what it does to me? I've had groups tell me to put it on in and instance then next time I'm in the same instance get called a noob for having it on.

+ to slash/Crush/Pierce. Basically this is your chance to hit an even con mob, but once you take on yellow and orange con mobs, your chance to hit is lower. If you are confident in your ability to play your class then play what you think needs to be played. I have this battle occasionally, it usually ends with, "I don't tell you how to fucking tank, so don't tell me how to play my toon asshole."

Also, Weapon Boon can give around 2% increase in ToHit%. It's a little more on white, yellow, and orange con. It's more like 1% on mobs below blue con. From my observation, a parse with a 3% increase in ToHit% is noticeable higher when compared to a parse with a lower ToHit%. This is what I have experienced from just observing ACT so it's anecdotal. If folk have an equation, then I'd love to read it.

Also, in defensive stance, the tanks combat skills are debuffed so this is one reason why tanks want Weapon Boon since they want it to for a little extra help to maintain hate.

EDIT : An aside, with Boon, Schwindler luck, Rhythm Blade, and combat skills on my current items, my piercing is 493 and slashing is 513. The soft cap is 520 (i.e., 6.5*lvl). When past the soft cap, the amount of benefit per point starts to drastically reduce. But, other players probably won't have skills nearly this high since Schwindler Luck is a scout HO reward and Rhythm Blade is a bard AA spell.

They'll have higher.

The average offensive stance gives like +55 c/s/p. Rhythm Blade and Swindler's only gives like +45.

Bard Spell - Rhythm Blade (1 AA point) - 23 p/s
Scout HO reward - Swindler's Luck - 28 p/s/c

So assuming the best, rogue and predators would have their combat skills around at the ceiling of 550 or so if Weapon Boon is activated.

Then there are those characters that are not built well where you can't assume the best, tanks in offensive stance, and the dirge dps to take into consideration.

Heh, I was just in a group of pugs with another Dirge in the group as well; with us two dirges, we were parsing at the top of 4k to 5k. LOL!! So, there are pug groups to take into consideration as well. heheh.

An aside, yeah, I wished that hate meter was implemented so that it can show to the stubborn players that the damn Hate song is not always needed. So then there are those stubborn players to satisfy. Watch out, if the stubborn tank jerkoff is group leader, they might just boot ya for put'n on the wrong song. ugh, sheesh. lol.

(my boon is not AA buffed)

apparently it's not just 'soft' cap but a complete cap at 520 unfortunately, or so I have been told. I would imagine the dps increase would just be the %age of dps ur autoattack does multiplied by the %age hit increase multiplied by ur overall average dps...but as to how you work out the %age hit increase I have know idea as that's deep in the game mechanics rather than common sense. I would imagine having weapon boon up increases melee dps more as the mobs go up in level.

Also autoattack hits provide the opportunity for those proc damage/buffs to trigger so the %ToHit effects more than the amount of crushing/piercing/slashing autoattack damage. Thus, I would think an increase in the %ToHit can be huge especially if ya have those greater bane proc items equipped. I would love to read an equation regarding the impact of %ToHit with consideration of all possible damage triggered by %ToHit.
