Default WoE T3 Comparison and Discussion

I didn't see this already discussed anywhere, so would like to ask about opinions on the new Ward of Elements x2 T3 armor sets.

I'm not in a hardcore guild and we're basically at the point of being relatively fresh to VP. Anytime I hear these armor sets even mentioned, the Molten set is dismissed completely, yet they seem pretty comprable to me.

Comparing the T3 armor sets:

Volcanic Percussion (Total Set):
Code:
STR 174 - STA 188 - AGI 340 - INT 336
Slashing 18 - Piercing 12

DA 7
MC 21
SC 21
CM 45
Spell & CA 199

30 Power Regen
40 Haste
4 Ability Casting Speed
2 Ability Reuse Speed
Molten Eidolon (Total Set):
Code:
STR 320 - STA 201 - WIS 115
Piercing 10

DA 8
MC 4
AS 5
CM 45
DPS 34
Spell & CA 324

20 Power Regen
40 Haste
4 Beneficial Cast Speed
Comparing them together, you get:

Volcanic Percussion:
Code:
+340 AGI, +336 INT
+18 Slashing, +2 Piercing
+19 MC
+21 SC
+4 Ability Cast Speed
+2 Ability Reuse Speed

+30 AGI (Set Bonus)
Proc 10sec 150 Spell & CA, +100 STR, +100 INT at 1.8ppm
Additional trigger chance to CoB & PotM
versus

Molten Eidolon:
Code:
+146 STR, +13 STA, +115 WIS
+1 DA
+5 AS
+34 DPS
+125 Spell & CA
+4 Beneficial Cast Speed

+30 STR (Set Bonus)
+3 Base Spell & CA Damage (Set Bonus)
Dual Group Healing Procs for 432hp at 3.9 and 2.3ppm
Another Healing Proc for 770hp? at 2.0ppm?
Granted you lose a ton of AGI and INT, and a good chunk of MC without the Volcanic Percussion set, you gain a bunch of STR and a ton of DPS, Spell & CA mods. Then you lose the Chime bonus and Spell & CA proc, but gain a ton of group healing procs. Granted this is perhaps more situational than the Chime use.

I'd like to hear more feedback on comparing these two. Should we just trash the Molten Eidolon pieces or is it viable and perhaps even better in some situations?

The raid wide proc bonus on CoB is worth the loss in strength for an increase in personal and raid-wide DPS

be pretty stupid to use the molten set over the Volcanic percussion if you have to use a t3 set...

volcanic set is better by far, molten set was more designed for a dps set for shammys ect.. its not ideal for us.

I really like the 3 set bonus, and I honestly have a hard time chosing between em..
I'm guessing the effect does not stack between Dirges and Troubs, so looking for pure dps I'm really thinking the mixed set is better..
We always have enough bards to have something up all the time, but the bonus will be wasted if troub and Dirge is runnig both at the same time..

Hmm, what to do, what to do..

The extra mc, sc, slashing, peircing casting and reuse are going to out weight 4% base by far I would think. Consider spells and ca's are only 50% of your dps at best.

Molten is absolute garbage for a dirge imho. Volcanic chest, legs and shoulders have some serious staying power until you get T4 TSO fabled set of those slots.

I have been looking, and thought maybe there are odd situations to have Molton for, but 99 times out of 100 volcanic percussion WTFPWNS molton, by far.

I personally don't think for the 1 time out of 100 that it's worth getting each and every t1 + t2 + t3 piece for the set, spending shards that can be saved up for elsewhere.

anyone know of plans for the new x2 raid zone? maybe shard jewellry? can't see the point in making a new t4 to then up the current one to t5 and make it uberly powerful, and there is no 'real' inbetween (unless u have stats not too dissimilar to t3 and then change set bonuses to being similar to the current t4?)

or even the essences? aren't the circlets supposed to be usable by all classes pretty soon?
