Default Weapon Accuracy

Searched around, didnt really find what I was looking for. Id like a little clarification on Weapon accuracy, i.e. 6 set bonus and the avatar off hand. Whats the base to hit % vs an 88x4, whats the cap? I know melee is inherently lower than spells but Id like some exact numbers if anyone has them.

Edit: Hit rates vary from mob to mob, Grummus vs Mischief for example and if youre at 60%, +10 accuracy doesnt bump you up to 70%. Guess id just like more clarification on to hit %'s and mechanics.

afaik if your hit rate is 60% and you gain +10% accuracy, you would hit for 64%...

Reason is that 10% accuracy means you're going to miss 10% less, so 40% misses on your example would drop to 36% misses..

I don't know the hit rates on various mobs you're looking for tho.

Gotcha, on average vs 88x4s whats it like 65%? So the cap would be something like +155 accuracy.

I sorta understand where you're coming from, but how can it work out what your hit rate is going to be before you do it?

because your hit % isn't random, there is some kind of equation they are using to determine it based on your stats.

have no idea how accuracy is really applied though myself.

hmmm, i suppose to have a hit rate, it has to know what your hit rate should be before producing it :P... My bad!

Personally, I would think that 10% accuracy is based upon your current 'hit' rate rather than your 'miss' rate. When it adds 10% duration, it's not 10% that your song isn't up, it's 10% that your song is up... so if you had 60% hit rate, presumably 10% accuracy would bring it up to 66%? obviously that would need diminishing returns otherwise you could in theory have 120% accuracy or something...

This interests me in only how it applies to pvp. I assume that in pvp ur accuracy is based off of agi and slashing skill?

Also people tell me that + slashing skill increases ur accuracy any1 know the % of how much?

+slashing is your ability to hit equivalent level mobs... for example, someone with 100 slashing skill will hit level 20 mobs at the same ish rate as someone with 400 slashing skill would hit level 80 mobs... but obviously someone with 400 slashing skill will hit the level 20 mobs at a much higher hit rate.

I have no idea what %age mate, I haven't tested it, but i think it's on diminishing returns until hard cap so it's hard to make a %age as such, rather pairing XXX skill with YY% every 10 or so skill points...

to get an idea though, you can always run without the slash/crush/pierce on a training dummy and then run with it a few times each...

Accuracy would seem to indicate hit rate rather than miss rate and hitting 10% more = missing 10% less only if your hit rate is 50% to begin with.

I would guess it would go from 60% -> 66%.

so what if your hit rate is 91% then? you get 100%?

I think what Broya said is about right thinking about it... Accuracy neglects misses:
"freedom from error or defect"

so if it's negating error or defect... ie our misses, it would be 10% reduction on our misses rather than a 10% bonus on our non-misses...

and furthermore, it then works better for the people it was intended for, ie the people who can actually attain it are usually the ones who are killing avatars, it would then give you a greater %age gain against avatars ur hitting @ 60% as opposed to heroics ur hitting @ 90%... because on heroics you wouldn't notice much of a difference with the 1% increase but on avatars you probably would with the 4% increase...

although it does seem a little stupid - in the sense of if you are fighting something at level 100 or something daft and your hitrate is 0%, you suddenly start to hit at 10%...
