Something im about to post on Everfrost forums

Ok im going to get a vacation form the boards for this but i cant let it go with out a post


I'll give my personal opinion on this one. I do allow a bit of off topic discussion on the server forums because I believe that it fosters the community, and that's what we want here. But there is a line to be drawn, and I think this is it.

If you want to "recruit" for another game, please feel free to share it in the NGD.




Im sorry Scarrlet but you are totaly wrong on this one. There was no recruiting for another game any where in wayoffs post, It was just as "Community Fostering" as the the forum games or other NGD on the server forums. It was a "hey everfrost come hang with us" So it was playing an fps game, If it was posted to come hang with them and it was a beach party would that be ok? Im sure it would be. Its when mods do stuff like this that causes the issues in the first place. My problem with the original post was not about rules it was about ethics, I called him out on them, Now im calling you out on yours. To moderate a board based on a whim and mood and not on what was allready told to us by another mod is crap. Starry/Mawie allready told us what was allowed yet here you are, Locking a thread that falls with in what she told us was allowed. Do us all a favor and come to a decision as to what is allowed and make everyone follow it. To allow Taubins forum games yet lock Wayoff's gives us no sense of what is or is not allowed on the forums. To lock that thread Proves the point that both rift and i were saying about Mods and the rules not being enforced to every one. It also proves that the other forum games should be locked as well since you locked this one.

I am about to post the above on the everfrost forums, Im going to get banned/suspended but if im going to call bullshit on one person then i better back it up and call bullshit on a mod then abuse there retarded mod powers.

Kena you are so correct. I know exactly what you are saying and that is why I very rarely even post on our "official" server forums. I commend you on your decision and I, for one, totally support it.

Well i didnt get banned but the thread went away, Your right way off if the forum games threads are allowed yours should have been too. If it was me and rift talking back and forth all she had to do was put in a warning. I hate the fucking soe mods.

I went and reported their retarded forum games threads, with lengthy feedback about how it is bs that they use the "building community" clause in their rules to allow non-gameplay discussion topics when there are many more ways to build community without having to resort to useless threads.

Oh and anyone else who cares, report these threads. The more complaints they get that these posts push out threads that don't break the rules and that contain useful conversation, the more likely they are to do anything about it.

I appreciate your frustration completely. And I agree that we need to come to a decision as to how much off topic will be allowed in the server forums, which we are currently discussing on our mod forum.

To be honest, the off topic issue rarely pops up with the other server forums, but we are pelted with complaints on Everfrost on a regular basis. We were happy to allow off topic chatter as long as everyone was happy with it, but judging by the complaints we get, everyone is NOT happy with the off topic content on Everfrost and we are reviewing this.

The judgement passed down by our superiors is that off topic on the server forums are to be kept to a minimum, and yes, this includes games too. What you don't see are the PMs that I have been sending out today addressing that issue in particular, please do not think that these is any bias here, we are just trying to establish a rule set that all mods will work with, and that takes time.

This isn't whim, I do go by the rules as they are posted. The thread was off topic, not even pertaining to EQ2 whatsoever, in addition it violated this particular rule "Advertise products or websites that are not related to EverQuest II orSony Online Entertainment products. " and happened to have been reported several times.

LMAO, Thing is i have no problem with the off topic stuff having it be there or not, Some of it has got way way out of hand though, the OMG i saw taubin thread made me hang my head in shame that i was actuly defending these people! For me i just want it one way or the other, Its why i kind of flamed your post to begin with. You say you dont like the off topic stuff but post something like it, I had to call ya on it, Just like i called scarlett on her crap. The mods are a fucking joke on the everquest boards im still shocked that i didnt get banned for it, ill have to try harder next time.
