Guild from 1 to 50 in just a month
I've been playing EQ2 for over 3 years, started a guild over 3 years ago. I don't have a large guild but the people involved with it are dedicated to it and rip out HQs and writs almost constantly. I recently came back to the game in October of 2007 the guild was at 24 with not many members, (due to a leader hiatus). We've picked up many new members and most of them are very active. We've only gotten 8 levels added to our guild in that 5 month span.
I spose first off I should explain my devotion to this guild. I've been with this guild since it was formed, never leaving, never trying out other guilds. I've taken breaks from the game and come back and had to rebuild from scratch. I keep this guild going because I want more than anything for the people that have joined as members and dedicated their time and energy to levelling the guild to be able to enjoy the perks of a higher level guild. What happened today on the Everfrost server, pissed me off so much that I just had to vent. I've talked with many other leaders of other guilds and they say its just not possible without buying platinum.
Today a guild formed Feb 1, 2008 posted lvl 50 guild. 12 unique members in the guild. 1 of whom has 11 days played total..and 1 million in status, almost a third of the required status for lvl 50. My main toon has 60 days playing time, 200k contributed. Its possible that between all my toons i have a combined total of 1 million contributed Guild status. (i'm not talking personal status here). When the topic was brought up in level chat, (without mentioning the guilds name). They started replying as if they were aware the discussion was about them. And quickly defended the accumulated status by saying they did lvl 80 tradeskill writs. Ok thats fine, but the math just doesn't add up. 11 days played and 1 mill in accumulated guild status. You have to harvest in order to do tradeskill writs. So if yer harvesting for the raws in order to do the writs to accumulate 10 million status points, 10 % of which would be the 1 million accumlated in 11 days...how the fuck can you tradeskill? Unless, you A:buy platinum B: buy platinum or C: buy platinum. Then you could buy the raws off broker (removing the need for harvest) and do tradeskill writs indefinitely. I sat here after their tradeskill defense and thought of the sheer amount of HQs writs and other guild status acquiring i've done in 3 years and it seriously made me sick to my stomach. There is just no possible way 3 people can achieve that in a little over a month, without cheating. I really wish I had no aversion from getting my account banned from EQ2 so that my guild members could enjoy the mounts and other things unlocked at higher levels, and it saddens me to see pricks obviously buying currency in order to buy up all the guild status items on broker and level their shitty guild. I'll continue to level my guild the hard way, I just needed to let off some steam. FUCK PLAT BUYERS
