Mithril is Recruiting

Mithril is a Level 68 weekend raiding guild on the Everfrost server. We are actively building our raid force with the goal of progressing through T8 content. We have begun raiding RoK Tier 1, and we farm EoF and KoS zones for gearing up lower level characters. We welcome level 65+ players who want to raid successfully up to 3 nights per week. Our raid time is 8:30pm EDT on Friday and Saturday. With a sufficient raid force we will begin farming 3-day instanced raid zones mid-week. We usually end before midnight.
What we offer:
A friendly, mature family of players running instances, quests and epics during the week; social events and raids on weekends. We are willing to help advance and gear up level 65+ characters on their way to raiding with us at 80.
Our guild is self-sufficient and can make most tradeskilled items including adornments, spells, potions, poisons, etc. Our government uses a planning panel concept which enlists a cross-section of the membership as governing agents on an eight-week term. Our leadership encourages an open style of communication with members through an active website and weekly town hall meetings. Respect for each other, long-term loyalty, team spirit and zero drama are our most highly valued goals.
We use a Shroud-style DKP system, and for raids we require the ability to listen with Ventrilo (speaking optional). If you want to start raiding regularly on weekends, or if you are burned out from the hard-core experience but still want to enjoy the content with an emerging raid force, then Mithril is the guild for you!
What we are looking for:
Mature, reliable players who want to relax during the week running quests and instances, grouping and having fun, but are willing to focus in and work as a team at every scheduled raid.
High Priority Classes:
Coercer
Dirges
Illusionists
Templar
Troubador
Necromancer
Please visit our website here for more information about us. Check out our EQ2Players roster here.
You can also contact us in game at:
everfrost.Darq
everfrost.Ferros
everfrost.Arabella

Thank you for considering Mithril. We look forward to talking with you!

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
yeah just a heads up while I have nothing against Mithril Guild, I do want to express that if you are interested in transfering from another server to join them... make sure you are aware they have to all agree to accept you as a member. From personal experience, just make sure you don't betray and waste your time until you get the final word if this guild will accept you as a member or not.
Also note, as recruits, you should pass up Masters to the guild bank, if not then this will cause some of their member's to not cast a vote in accepting you in their guild. It does not matter if you traded the master for one you could use, some of their member's will get upset.
Again I have nothing against them, I am just adding my 2 cents from my personal experience with them. I am very happy in my current guild with my Main character, but in regards to this character, I don't even play it much... it was a complete waste of time and money.

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
Given Mithril is a very good bunch of people, it sounds like there is a lot more to this story than you're letting on.

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
yeah Cyque, like I said I don't have anything against them. I know they are good peeps, you raid with them as well so we both know them. But I'm glad you posted your interest and at my initial post, it is exactly what happened if you re-read. After I left Mithril, I took that experience to a new guild with an attitude of passing up Master's even though there is no rule stating that I have to. I must have passed up about 3 t8 Master's by now on my current guild.
It was a good experience for me to take a long, but when I joined them, there was nothig that stated I had to pass up Master's as a recruit. It was a warden master and someone got butt hurt I traded it for an Illy master and when it came voting time... there was a bump on the road. Darq was very nice in explaining the democracy the guild has and that's when I decided to leave.
So there is nothing else other then a well learned experience. But if anyone is interested in betraying and or is thinking of transfering to join Mithril, just make sure you can learn from my mistake and pass up all master's you loot, because some of their member's will get upset. This is not directed as a flame but a caution.

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
Last month I was arrested and the charges were dropped because there was no way the courts could find me guilty of a specific Felony. Here in the United States we have this thing called innocent until proven guilty, which means when you go to court the judge will say what the outcome will be. Yeah I was in county jail for about 14 hours eating ham and cheese sandwishes hating life. After I bonded out , I met with my lawyers couple times then I went to court few weeks later and the charges were dropped.
Mithril is a guild that judges players outside of the game as well as act upon decisions before an outcome. They have member's that do not like people who have gone to jail before. It does not matter if you are innocent before being judged by the state, you in their eyes, are worthless. I guess I'm not perfect, and yeah I'm the type of guy that makes mistakes but I tend to learn from those mistakes.
Sometimes in life you have to do things that will keep you away from threats and while I'm not going to get into details about my dropped case I will say I found it funny that this was one of the excuses they used against me. But yeah, I believe there was more to this story than the traded Master, here is my /tell with Ferros.
I was on vent one day and I heard one of the woman on that guild talk about the time they were arrested and when she went to county jail... I thought I would share my experience as well since someone in the guild had already said something about it on vent... but yet I am the bad guy lol
So I wanted to also add if you been in trouble with the law even if you were innocent regardless of the outcome... Mithril will Judge you either way.

Seriously man, fuck those narrow minded bigots in the ass, a guild like that was beneath you anyway, now you can join a good guild.

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
To add to what I said in the above post, there is no prohibition to flaming in recruitment threads in server forums.
The prohibition against flaming in recruitment threads applies only in the main recruiting sections near the top of this site.
I said what I did above, as a former criminal defense attorney, to echo the outrage expressed by the guy who got booted because he got arrested then cleared by the courts.
What the fuck is this, the Soviet Union? Do you REALLY believe the cops are always innocent and always tell the truth?

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
Zeb,
I personally was very upset when you did not make the votes to get into the guild. I stood up for you, and I made several attempts to tell people that life outside of the game has no bearing on a person's ability to play their toon, and that it was your choice to sell/trade/or give the master.
Yes, a few members were upset about the master (which they said they saw for sale up on the broker- and did not know you eventually traded for it). The RL thing also made a few more sensitve members worried because of what it involved. It was none of our business, and because it happened during the initiation period and you posted about it on our forums, it made a bad first impression on some folks. There were a total of 3-4 people who were upset by these things. All of these people have since left the guild.
I will not talk about your private business and I personally did not care other than I was worried about you being ok.
I was happy to have you in Mithril, and I personally made you at least 12 adept 3s (Ferros and I provided the rares) since you betrayed for us (at 70 so you did not loose and T8 masters).
What happened to you really shook the guild. Ironically, all of the members who voted no eventually left, and we changed our guild voting policy (it was set up so only a small percentage of members were allowed to vote no to make a recruit a full member). We no longer are having members vote on recruits. We are letting our officers make that call for us.
We wish you the best in The Brotherhood. They are an awesome guild and you are a great player. I know I apologized to you, and told you that I was sad to see you go. We learned a lot from what happened, and don't want this sort of thing to happen to any future recruits.

Re: Mithril is Recruiting
Regardless if he was innocent or not it shouldn't matter. The vast majority of people break the law at some point or consistantly, it does not make them a bad person. I know quite a few felons that are more trustworthy than the cops that locked em up. Judging people by personality or skill level is cool. But judging RL shit that has absolutely no effect on you is lame.
