Re: Pulled over for flicking a cigarette?
Littering is against the law most places. SOMEONE has to clean that shit up and while most parts of the filter are biodegradable within years, they are substances in it that are not. I'd be just as irritated if someone chucked an empty cup out the window and it'd be just as illegal.
I'm not a hippy (despite the fact that I live in the NW) but one has to realize that it is sort of a wave effect. If everyone is allowed to toss their trash out of their windows, then everyone will do it. Would you like to pay out more tax dollars Sai to clean it up? Or would you rather people just be less fucking stupid and keep their trash in their own cars until they can properly dispose of it? I'd vote for the latter myself.
I remember I was driving my mother (she is nutty as heck..seriously crazy so I have to care for her) to an appointment and she had a cup of coffee with her in the car. About 15 minutes into the ride she decided she didn't want to hold the coffee anymore and the mug was too big for my cupholders, so she chucked the coffee (not the cup) out the window. I was on the freeway going about 65. The poor sob behind me got hit with coffee all over his windshield which caused him to swerve and honk at me. I was all yelling at her and asking what the hell her problem was and her response (seriously) was "Wha? I do that with my cig butts all the time?"
I didn't have the patience to explain the difference.
