South Africa's parliament has voted to legalise same-sex weddings - the first African country to approve such unions.
The controversial Civil Union bill was passed by 230 votes to 41.

The legislation was introduced after the Constitutional Court ruled last year that the existing laws discriminated against homosexuals.

It's now official, the United States of America, the nation founded on individual rights and national idealism now has worse civil liberties for gays than a nation that had apartheid until 1994.

Some places in the US are quiet about their "laws, restrictions, or what have you". In this fine state of PA I (just this month) added my gf as a domestic partner through my employer which granted her the same benefits my "spouse" would receive were I married. I don't care about gay marriage, marriage is a "church" thing.... I just want the same financial and federal recognition that I could receive were I "married" to a man. My stance is just do away with marriage period, call it civil unions for EVERYONE then after you get your civil union go practice your marriage custom however you wish.

If society keeps going in the direction it is, I dont think I'd be surprised if I see a headline like this 50 years down the road. 50 years ago, fags getting married wasn't something the average person ever expected. Letting fags get married just sets a very bad precedent in my opinion.

Gay marriage involves consenting adults. Peodophilia does not. Comparing gays to peodophiles is therefore 100% total fucking bullshit.

Children are not adults, they can not give informed adult content, a gay man (or woman) is. A gay person should have the right to make whatever choice he or she wishes, as long as it harms nobody. That's the fundamental idea of liberty. Two consenting adults wishing to enter into a marrital contract is the act of consenting adults.

Comparing gay marriage to paedophilia, bestiality, or anything else like that just betrays your absolute fuckwit homophobe self by not recognizing that gay marriage is the act of consenting adults, paedophilia and bestiality is not.
