Sniff.

So, here I am, trying to save up money so I can care for my rats, buy more food for myself, and eventually save up so I can visit my friends in the Netherlands and stuff.

But every single time I try to get a job, it goes like this:

: I filled out the application, did the form [with the agree-disagree things,] etc.
: Well, you look good for the job, we'll call back in a week if we would like to interview you.
: Sure.

ONE WEEK LATER

: They haven't called yet, I should call. (And so I do.)
: [after 15 minutes of being on hold] : Hello, my name is, ____________, how can I help you?
: Hello, my name is _____________, I have applied to your company/store last week, and I would like to know how that is working out.
: Okay, you'll have an interview scheduled on X.
: Thanks!

AFTER SAID INTERVIEW
: Hm, I haven't gotten a response yet.
: (as a letter in the mail) lol sorry you don't get the job since you won't work 13 hours each on Saturdays and Sundays and you don't have any job experience lolz bye

EVERY. TIME.
And I get called useless often by my mother, who says I'm not trying hard enough, when I've applied to over 10 places and always rejected. Every time. I look at a ton of people who have jobs. How do they get them? I know this girl that used to be my friend who'd spend her entire paycheck on that shitty Gaia Online site. Fuck, I could use that money for myself. And it makes me upset, because I feel I've stooped as low as a shitty emo kid whining about his/her/its life in a LiveJournal or MySpace right now.

The fact that my aunt and father are gravely ill doesn't help, but that's a different story, and I get shitty drama piled onto me by my friends, too. And I'm posting this here since my friends are pretty much working all the time. Or busy. Or something. I'm tired of being called useless, I'm tired of having to beg my mother to buy me food for my rats because I can't afford rat food (I do feed them normal food, too, but I try to limit it,) and I'm tired of spoiled shits with their "I got $1,000 bucks time to spend it on a shitty forum lolz!" and rubbing it in my face.

So, what the fuck do I do?

TL/DR: I try to get jobs, it fails, Mom calls me useless, how do I get money? Any advice?

I don't have a car, and my parents are almost done paying off the house stuff.

I mostly need money for quick things like that, and also saving up and putting cash towards more college and education.

Suck it up and be willing to work on Saturday and/or Sunday, for starters. You're a high school grad with no experience, get used to it. Hell, some of us have 7 years experience in our fields and still have to work weekend days.

Go to college . There's plenty of financial assistance for those who actually want to go to college. If worse comes to worse, take loans . In the long run it will pay off because it's a lot easier to find a job with a college degree backing you up, even if you learned nothing =p.

Getting a job? Yeah, if they want you to work "x" hours, you fucking do it. If you don't want to work when they want you to work, then you don't want the job. Its pretty simple.

1) Apply for a job that fits your "needs".
2) Do your god damned best at said job.
3) Get $$.

If you're applying for a job that wants you to work 10 hours a day and you don't want to work that much, what the fuck did you expect to happen? Secondly, why did you waste your time applying in the first place?

I am in college, a community one for now, and there are job opportunities - on the other side of the state. :< I'm a graphic design major, and a freshman.

I didn't know they wanted me to work THAT much. This happened at the interview, which I should have mentioned before.

And I was planning to work for them at different hours during the week, too, like 6 hours for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 8 hours each for Saturday and Sunday.

I knew I wasn't getting the job anyway, since I was the only one in the group interview that had no job experience.

Meh, working is overrated .

I'd suggest concentrating on school o_O.

I recently quit my job to pursue further education... that and my manager was an ass and made me work 55-65 hours a week =p.

I need money, though. Mom's threatened to not buy rat food for me anymore and let them starve. I do feed them "human food", too, but I have to be careful so they don't get toxic levels of vitamins or nutrients.

I did make the honor list in college, though.

Weekends is what I'm aiming for, I just can't work 13 hours a day on the weekends due to multiple factors (family, health problems, etc.) 13 hours is a bit much for me, but 10 isn't so bad.

I don't know about where you live, but since the education level is piss poor in California, the state usually gives some kind of grant or scholar ship for the honors students .

And don't raise rats if you can't even support yourself =p.
