I always thought the test for whether a person was ignorant or educated was how they pronounced the word etcetera. It used to make me cringe when I heard someone pronounce it "ek-cetera". "The T is before the hard c sound, dumbass," is what I'd respond.

But then I actually heard one of my college professors mispronounce it, and realized that even people with PhDs can be ignorant dumbasses.

I think the only thing worse, related to MMOs, is when someone talks about "argo". There is no fucking such thing as "argo". It's "agro", a slang term for "aggravate".

I'm glad we had this discussion.

I've never heard anybody say argo... But I get pissed off when people spell "of" and "off" wrong. And when people ask what zone are you in... LOOK IN THE FUCKING GUILD WINDOW.

I can't stand the long post quoters who put one line at the end. Especially on eq2players where it coudl be like 8 nested quotes, and "haha" after it. Shut up already.

You're right LFG, argo and ek-cetera drive me nuts too. Its funny, tho, cuz my WHOLE life until I was about 22, I pronounced "Frustrated" as "fustrated" - ignoring the first r. It wasn't until my friend of many years who was in town visiting me started laughing at me that I started pronouncing it differently hehe.

People use 'thou' as a short form of though. Thou is an actual work an prnounced to rhyme with OW. The short form of though is tho.
