Movie: - Rise of the Footsoldier (if you like action/violence)
TV: - Prison Break (season 1 is simply amazing)
- The Wire (gangs, drug running, several seasons out on DVD)
- The Dresden Files (from the SciFi channel, little corny, but portrays the life of a modern day Wiztard. Pretty fun to watch.)
Assuming you have newsgroups it shouldn't be hard to find any of the above.
