In any sense, it was taken care of, the type of satelite or what it contained is irrelevant imo. They generally have some pretty hazardous material on board, so it makes perfect sense to me that they would wanna blow it up rather than let it crash land in the local public swimming pool. Not that really matters anyway, it's done with.

Yeah....IIRC, they did say that it was a spy satellite. Shouldn't really need someone to explain to you why the government wouldn't want that just falling to Earth, regardless of the radioactive fuel.
