Main reason hubby and I got married was to get him on my way better insurance. My employer at the time did not have "domestic partner" coverage.
Now we pay WAY more in taxes cause we hve no children.
And of course I now have a job that does not discriminate between spouses and partners on the insurances. =/

That sucks. My employer has domestic partner bennies but I have to pay the premiums on the health insurance coverage. Which equals out to like $230 a month on top of the cost of adding her to my insurance plan. This shows up as "income" on my W2 and inflates how much cash I've actually made for the year. I always thought this was more of a state thing and not realized until he answered my question that it was really the federal gov't was the ones doing it.
I'm losing my neice next week so that tax shelter is going away. But, at this point I'd rather pay more than to deal with her issues that are getting worse every day. She is her father's daughter but that is a topic for another thread
