So I got my kids a Wii for Christmas...
Anyone have any suggestions for games? I picked up Zelda and Monkey Ball, and I'm thinking of grabbing the Rayman one... anything else that younger kids may enjoy?
My oldest is 12, my youngest is 6.
Also, in making your suggestions, please rate them on how well they may also work as a drinking game
Thanks!

Pretty sure it comes with a game that has bowling, boxing, baseball, tennis and some other sports games on it. Those games are really fun to play. As for other games not really sure lol. Zelda looked pretty cool when I watched my brother play it, and saw a video of rayman at the nitendo store which looked awesome.

Excite Truck (probably a 7/10 for a drinking game would be higher but it's only 2 player multiplayer, not 4) (This game has been a very pleasant surprise for me -- it's got more legs than I'd thought, since there are a ton of things to unlock, and the tracks/races get progressively harder.)
Definitely get Rayman -- fun game and an excellent drinking game (9/10)
That's about all I've played so far, but I'll post up thoughts on Elebits (definately a contender for funness and drinking game, I think) and Super Swing Golf (read some mixed reviews, but golf is always a good drinking game, so hoping for the best on this one) later on (they both come out today).

Haha Sanj. Kids 12 and 6 probably not rating games on a drinking scale. I agree with your opinions on them though. Rayman might be a little freaky/scary for your 6 year old though. Friggin crazy bunnies EVERYWHERE!

The drinking game ratings were more for the adults... my kids aren't always awake

Re: So I got my kids a Wii for Christmas...
Ok, so I got Elebits and Super Swing Golf yesterday. I spent more time with golf, but was able to try out both.
1. Super Swing Golf -- it's better than Wii Sports golf. I like it, but it's no Hot Shots or Mario Golf. Easy to pick up and play, and the mechanics work pretty well. It does have a power gauge, but the distance traveled also seems to vary based on how hard (fast) you swing. It's not prefect by any means ... there are some long loading times, and the menu isn't the best (the music also kinda sucks -- I need to see if you can play mp3s instead of the game music), but it's fun. If you like golf games this should hold you over until Mario/Hot Shots makes it to the Wii (there seemed to be a lot of unlockables).
2. Elebits -- very interesting concept. I need to spend more time with it (and try out the multi-player), but it's pretty neat so far. Kind of an action/puzzle hybrid. The controls work well, though it's sometimes difficult to manipulate the environment correctly. I did have one major problem with the game ... at one point on the 2nd level, the game basically crashed on me. I believe I got stuck in the environment (dropped to about 1 frame every second or two, large blocks of color on the screen) and the game basically froze and I had to reset. I hope this was just a freak occurrence, though. I'll rate it as a drinking game after I get a chance to play with some buddies this weekend.

Re: So I got my kids a Wii for Christmas...
Ok, a little more detail on Super Swing Golf and Elebits ...
Super Swing Golf: Very interesting, and very LONG. It's like a Golf RPG, really. You win money ("pang") by playing the "Story Mode", or competing in tournaments, and even in Vs. mode. You use the money to purchase clothing, new golf clubs, new golf balls, new caddies, etc. ... most of which can be upgraded to increase your skills (power, control, accuracy, spin, etc.). You also gain experience points by winning tournaments, which increases your "level" (novice, beginner, etc.). Very interesting, but like any golf game, I'm sure it will get repetitive in time.
Elebits: Multiplayer is ... interesting, fast, and pretty fun. The single player game is getting tougher even after just 4 levels. This game is so hard to describe because it's so very different from anything out there, but any new Wii owner should at least rent this game, because of the way it uses the Wii-mote and nunchuck. Played it for a bit longer and didn't ever have a repeat lockup, either, so hopefully the first was simply an anomaly.

Has anyone tried RayMan? Someone suggested this game so I picked it up but haven't tried it yet.
