Ebay: To Paypal or Not to Paypal?
I'm trying to auction off a childhood collection of dolls, and even though ebay lists Paypal as an optional way to buy items, they are now insisting I create a PayPal account if I want to sell my next item. Ebay already charges a small fee every time you list an item to sell, so I don't like the idea of losing more money to PayPal fees (it's not a lot, but wtf).
Please tell me your good or bad experiences with PayPal as a buyer and more importantly as a seller. This website has me concerned:
PayPalSucks.com is where you will learn about the PayPal Class Action Lawsuit, Abuse, Fraud & evil behind the PayPal system!

Re: Ebay: To Paypal or Not to Paypal?
Fuck Paypal
I have been screwed over so many times by them. Unfortunately, its the easiest way to pay for things on eBay etc. So I still use it
As long as a seller ships your item to your fucking city/state, hes covered. So if you live in New York City, some idiot could send your package to a completely different address in NYC but because its in the same state/city, hes covered and you are fucked. It happened to me and its bullshit.

Re: Ebay: To Paypal or Not to Paypal?
Actually, ebay IS Paypal. They are the same as of about 5 years ago.
Paypal is convenient when everything goes well. If there is a problem, you are beyond fucked. In the 10 years I have used PP, I have had 2 (out of about 100) problem transactions. Neither were resolved, to the tune of just over $1k. The latest one has convinced me to stop using PP altogether and vehemently discourage anyone from using it. Click 'Send Money' at your peril.
Avoid Paypal at all, ahem, costs. Fuck 'em.

Re: Ebay: To Paypal or Not to Paypal?
I've bought alot of shit on ebay and always paid via paypal. I've only had 2 disputes with a seller for selling fake items, of which I was fully refunded and then scammed the fucker in Hong Kong back by not sending the fake item back as he was promptly banned from ebay and paypal (4g memory stick pro duo, falsely labeled as 8g). Overall I got two 4g sticks free :P
There's alot of shady fuckers on eBay, I've sold antique car parts from my 71 mustang, and they all went through without a problem, but I've only got 7 sales under my account, so just beware that they send payment and you have the money before sending the item :P GL

Some faggot I purchased some high end computer parts from off ebay just tried to fuck me with Paypal. Luckily, I sent him the money 2am on Saturday morning and Paypal does not do bank transactions except on weekdays. He printed off a label showing tracking information for parts that should have been 10x heavier, and a 5x5x5 size. I picked up on this, called Paypal on Sunday, and basically told them what happened. They froze the funds before he got them out, now I wait for the scumbag Paypal people to sort it out, I already called my credit card company and told them that Paypal can suck a cock and I'm not paying any of it. Luckily I have an AMEX so they make disputes easy.
Not to mention a while back I shipped a $700 Pioneer radio to some guy in CT, and he reversed the transaction, even though he SIGNED for the package at a CONFIRMED address, I still ate it. Too bad I sent my Lawyer after Paypal and got my money back.
I'm done using Paypal. Fuck ebay too. Too many little pukes on there. Hell I feel like posting the guys information that just tried to rip me off to be a dink..too bad he gave out a legit phone number and I pulled up his real information. I'm debating whether or not to call his house and ask for his parents and tell them their son is a lying cocksucker, and a con artist.
I know how these scammers work all too well.

Re: Ebay: To Paypal or Not to Paypal?
Paypal is good because it can be abused both ways. dont get what you want? Easy to reverse the transaction. So as a buyer its incredibly safe and awesome. As a seller as long as you are selling to the lower 48 states you should be fine. The real problems come with international banks and paypal just doesnt want to deal with that shit.
