You read too much into it and let your own bias color what he actually said and out of the context of back and forths including a few that accused damocles of being all talk.

The only thing hypothetical about it is in asking the question "What if she fought back?" and comparing that to what actually happened. It is still about a real person no matter how you try to rationalize the cruelty. Judging her character based on her choice is a poor way to argue one's position, and in my opinion is also a very shitty thing to do. So I make a judgment of my own.

No one rationalized the cruelty. No one judged her character. Damocles said clearly none of our discussion would get her ass unkicked and I agreed given her ostensible background there was no surprise or shame in her doing what she did. In my back and forth with Niber I actually downgraded her injuries to try convey my view of her life being in danger but he didn't budge on it.

The only judgments passed in this thread were clearly directed at people in this thread and the one wild shot against her parents that was really just an indictment against society as a whole. The only real discussion taking place occurred because people completely ruled out physical self defense. You are entitled to judge on your own but you have to judge what's actually there.
