The competition for jobs is downright ridiculous. I graduated a year ago from UCSD (the price of credits went way up during my time there), and am still searching for work. I would say that in the last 4 months, the replies have died down to barely anything.

You are correct about the environment down here in TX. The job-markets seems solid and the DFW area is actually ATTRACTING business to move/establish here. Gas and food pricing is rising but show me an area in the country that isn't :-(
