Now, I am in the position to be able to do that currently, but how many families aren't?

What do you do, when you can't afford to drive to work? And can't find anything closer?

We're up to 3.50 here in Austin Texas. It's not quite as bad as where you are, but it's getting there and will only get worse in the summer. =(

Gas companies make less per gallon we buy than the government does.

Then again, most of that tax money goes into road work... That said, here in Michigan, the road work they complete doesn't last 2 years; so what's the point anyway.

But, I feel for ya, OP... I drive 44 miles to work. Nearly 90miles round trip each day. "LFW!"

Shit I nearly choked when I saw 3.65 here in Denver!! That's crazy! I am fortunate to get pretty damn good gas mileage and live fairly close to my work. My brother and his wife both drive SUV"s I would HATE to see what it costs to fill their tank with the price that high!!!

Hey did you see that the new Jetta Diesel TDI that is coming out gets 61mpg Highway? Fuck! Ford/Chevy/Toyota/Nissan can't even make a fucking HYBRID that gets 50mpg (Especially when you figure in costs to replace the batteries at 15c/mi at inception and about 5c/mi currently).
