MAKEUP
After spending boocoo $$$ bucks on expensive lipsticks and other makeup paraphenalia, I'm fed up. They run, fade or end up on my guys face. Not classy. What makeup are you all using? Any advice on some good affordable lines or drugstore brands? If your like me and have spent too much on makeup, what lines did you like best? I have used MAC, chanel, Bobbie, etc., et al......maybe you all have used something I havn't tried that works well.
Comeon girls (and guys), let's discuss and get some levity in here.

Re: MAKEUP
I gave up on make up years ago. Sometimes, for parties or special occasions, I throw on some, but meh... too much work for daily wear, especially because I work in a warehouse hehe.

Re: MAKEUP
There's tricks to makeup application. Running makeup is usually an error in application (usually, lol).
First, find a good foundation (or base). Apply it very lightly to smooth your complexion. Then apply blush, eye color, lipstick, etc.
THEN (and here's the trick) apply powder. That's right, facial powder. This actually helps "fix" the makeup. Dust your face well and use one of those big powder puff brushes to dust off the excess.
Then apply lip gloss or whatever for shine. It's just like painting, really - base coat, color, fixing coat, lol.
That's what they taught us 100000 years ago when I was modeling, lol.
Oh, I stick to the basic better supermarket brands - Loreal, Max Factor, etc. Although I very much liked a fancy brand called LORAC, if it's still around.

Re: MAKEUP
oooo, Lorac!!!! Now theres a brand I haven't seen in a while! Good tips! My skin is oily so stuff slides off and powder clogs my pores! I need a non-clogging powder and I think your technique may work for me.
And Elaine! Makeup is body art! Its also about rituals and stuff. Its good for the soul, get with it girl!

Re: MAKEUP
Lorac had the very best concealer and base I ever tried. I have blue understones in my skin, instead of the standard rosy undertones, and if I pick the wrong base I look like I'm painted.
Be sure to get a base for oily skin. Also, if you're quite determined, use a good skin cleansing regimine: Cleanser, toner, moisturizer. That will help keep your skin in shape, and it's even more necessary if you're having to go to great lengths to apply makeup well.
You might try a light application of powder under your base also, if you still have problems, but less is more, otherwise you'll end up with that applied-it-with-a-putty-knife look.
Oh! I'm also fond of Clinique. Thier cleaning regimens are the bestest. And they have a great makeup remover called "Take The Day Off" that even gets off the nastiest oil-based eyeliner.
BTW, I don't wear makeup anymore. I don't even put in my contacts most days, since I can't sleep with them in and I grab a nap whenever the kids coordinate on one, lol.
What else was I thinking. Oh - toss any makeup that's more than six months old, especially eyemakeup, it's a bigger germ breeding ground than a public toilet seat.

Re: MAKEUP
I cant use clinique, it's like detergent on my skin. I use stuff for sensitive skin or Clarins. I love the plant based cleansers and such. More good tips though!
And BOOOO about not wearing makeup anymore!

Poo. Most mornings I'm happy if my hair all hangs in the same direction, lol.
How about Melaluka? You'd have to get it from a dealer, but my sister likes it.

LOL! Maybe if i worked in an office I would consider it (and that's when I did wear make up). But working in a warehouse, on any given day I could be hauling and moving stock around, or out doing counts, climbing ladders, packaging shipments, showing customers the equipment, or even taking a walk down the street to pick up lunch for the crew. I generally work up a sweat almost every day. Its funny because the day I decide to wear a nice shirt to work instead of my normal T-shirt, I'm almost guaranteed to have to do some dirty work in the warehouse thus rendering me filthy from head to foot, and pissed that my pretty shirt is all dirty lol.

Re: MAKEUP
I don't wear makeup. Like... ever.
If I really want to, or I'm going out with someone really special, I'll wear eyeliner or a smudge of eyeshadow. That's pretty much it.
I'm a bad girl

/nod me either it fooks with my skin badly. Nurta has sensitive skin. However, there is the rare occassion that I will put a little dab here and there. Leah wears makeup all the time though I never pay attention to the brands ha.
Mellaluka? Egads, I haven't heard that name since I divorced my husband. His mom sold that shit and tried to get us involved, rip-off!
