Except no one has brought forth any real substantial proof of alien life before. Too assume they have to look completely unrecognizable compared to humans, is no different than assuming they look very similar. It's just that, an assumption.

For all we know, life may gravitate torward a standard evolutionary path throughout the universe. Food for thought.

Life does do that here. Most life forms on the planet have eyes/ears/mouths of some fashion. We don't all see the same spectrum, hear the same frequencies, or share the same diet, but we all traverse the planet using our senses as we consume it's resources.

By that notion, all tool users are bipedal. UFOs are tools. I expect the aliens that picnic here to be bipedal, with sensory input nodes similar to our eyes, ears, and mouths. I would also expect them to be wearing space suits unless the environment is similar to their own. If it is similar to their own, they would naturally look more like us than not, having evolved under similar conditions.
