Because somehow kicking a ball down the field is more exciting then picking it up and running it? Please.
IMO, all sports are pretty damn boring to watch, alot more fun to get off your ass and play them instead.

Because you stand around for half the game doing nothing it's boring. 20s of action every minute doesn't make a fun game. Commericals make it even worse. If there was no stopping it'd be a lot better, but Commericals, downs everything make it pretty boring to watch.
