The ones by Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Richard Henry Lee, Patrick Henry, George Mason, and James Madison, perhaps? Inconvenient, aren't they, especially when those people helped create the United States itself?

That's a very good collection of quotes Xrin, I think it's important to look back on those viewpoints to get perspective on how completely distorted the American political landscape has become.

Lol @ quoting the founding fathers on an issue subject to technological change.
Convenient isn't it that those same men didn't live in the age of automatic weapons, killing sprees, and the underground arms trade.

So while those quotes ostensibly support your viewpoint, they are about 200 years out of context.

But hey I'll compromise: A musket in every home!!

food for thought, if we were more accustomed to being trained the the responsible and proper use of firearms perhaps the problem of being infantile would be irrelevant. Like that quote said, guns make for polite society.

Triple post FTL, but I think that all that is also irrelevant with proper training. The point to the quotes was that the guns don't get discharged if everyone's got one, because if you shoot someone and there are 3 people around that also have guns that aren't on your team, you're probably gonna get plugged if they don't think it was right. Definitely makes even the most hardcore G's think twice about pulling the trigger.
