Global warming means it's so hot there - and two people I work with just came back from there so this is from the horses mouth - that it hasn't rained in 4 years or something and birds flying anywhere near the fires are burning up, crashing a few hundred yards away and causing more fires.

lol - I'd just like to highlight the typical American response.
Aside from being geographically challenged (Cyprus not really a gimme, but shouldn't really be all that obscure, either), he took the trouble of manipulating his monitor, mouse and keyboard enough to read the subject matter, type a response & hit submit...but can't be bothered to type "cyprus" into a fucking search engine.
