Here's one for you to think about. Gramm, McCains economic advisor:

They didn't include enough about McCain's economic adviser Phil Gramm's past. He was a senator who took cash from the banking industry and introduced - and passed - a law that removed consumer safeguards in place since the Great Depression. This allowed banks to merge with financial investment institutions and begin selling risky investment products, including speculating on mortgages. This led to the subprime meltdown we have today which is destroying our economy. Then Gramm quit the Senate and went to work for UBS, a gigantic international bank that took advantage of Gramm's new law and gobbled up investment firms, then had Gramm lobby George W. Bush to remove the remaining consumer safeguards on predatory lending. Gramm is a giant POS, and McCain has nothing but praise for the man, he even wants to put him in charge of the Federal Reserve - the guy who had led us into a recession would be in charge of getting us out!


So, if you like the Great Depression, you're going to LOVE John McBush.

And to top that off, guess who Gramms wife is. Give up? OK. I'll tell you. His wife was on the Enron Board of directors shortly after removing the safeguards that allowed Enron to manipulate the energy markets in California that caused one of the biggest energy company meltdowns in U.S. history.

Fuck her, fuck him and fuck McCain.

McCain, with all his goonies pulling his strings, will destroy this nation and put U.S. citizens interests DEAD LAST.

If you are seriously pissed off like the majority of Americans how this administration has blatantly ignored us for 7 years, having McCain in there will only make matters worse.

McCain is selfish, greedy and those surrounding him have no interest in the well being of this nation.

Anyways, read this article about his Lobbyist ties here. Unless you'd rather close a blind eye and allow another piece of shit politician run this country with their own best interests in mind for another 4 years like our current one.

Edit - You do realize that article points out that the Democrats repeal of Glass-Steagell set the framework for the mortgage meltdown don't you.

And further comments to say that McCain's plan is only to help homeowners and let the banking industry who screwed up have their feet in the fire until they can pull themselves out of it?

99% fluff, but heres the real speech.

"I've sponsored Senator Chris Dodd's legislation creating a new FHA housing security program, which will provide meaningful incentives for lenders to buy or refinance existing mortgages. This will allow Americans facing foreclosure to keep their homes at rates that they can afford. Now, Senator McCain argues that government should do nothing to protect borrowers and lenders who've made bad decisions or taken on excessive risk."

Senator McCain has a plan to provide for borrowers, not for lenders. He feels lenders who are very knowledgable about investments, especially risk should not be bailed out b/c they took on to much.

"For homeowners who are victims of fraud, I've also proposed a $10 billion foreclosure prevention fund that would help them sell a home that is beyond their means or modify their loan to avoid foreclosure or bankruptcy."

These plans are almost identical. There is pretty much partisan support on all fraud issues when it comes to the mortgage crisis. The only real differences between plans are details such as do we sell the home and pay them the difference in lost value or let them keep the home and and do permanent rate adjustment subsidised by the government. Personally they got conned into buying something they couldnt afford, sell the home and pay them the difference then let them live in a home that they can sustain.

" To reward work and make retirement secure, we'll provide an income tax (sic) of up to $1,000 for a working family and eliminate income taxes altogether for any retiree bringing in less than $50,000 per year."

McCain is wanting to abolish AMT which is a huge boon for low income and middle class families which will save an average of around $2700 per family. In addition raising the exemption for dependants by $3500-$7000.

Addressing the retirees, He does not beleive they should have no tax obligation, but his current plans greatly reduce the amount to be taxed.

"I believe in PAYGO."

It is financially impossible, not improbable for him to beleive this and to beleive he can do what he is promising at the same time.
