Now, Senator McCain argues that government should do nothing to protect borrowers and lenders who've made bad decisions or taken on excessive risk."
Senator McCain has a plan to provide for borrowers, not for lenders. He feels lenders who are very knowledgable about investments, especially risk should not be bailed out b/c they took on to much.
"For homeowners who are victims of fraud, I've also proposed a $10 billion foreclosure prevention fund that would help them sell a home that is beyond their means or modify their loan to avoid foreclosure or bankruptcy."
These plans are almost identical. There is pretty much partisan support on all fraud issues when it comes to the mortgage crisis. The only real differences between plans are details such as do we sell the home and pay them the difference in lost value or let them keep the home and and do permanent rate adjustment subsidised by the government. Personally they got conned into buying something they couldnt afford, sell the home and pay them the difference then let them live in a home that they can sustain.
" To reward work and make retirement secure, we'll provide an income tax (sic) of up to $1,000 for a working family and eliminate income taxes altogether for any retiree bringing in less than $50,000 per year."
McCain is wanting to abolish AMT which is a huge boon for low income and middle class families which will save an average of around $2700 per family. In addition raising the exemption for dependants by $3500-$7000.
Addressing the retirees, He does not beleive they should have no tax obligation, but his current plans greatly reduce the amount to be taxed.
"I believe in PAYGO."
It is financially impossible, not improbable for him to beleive this and to beleive he can do what he is promising at the same time.
I don't have time to respond now. I gotta go to a meeting. But I remind you, he delivered this message back in March, prior to McCains plan he just released yesterday. This was back when McCain told everyone he didn't know anything about the economy.
The economy is the next major focus and will be the difference maker for the next person to ake office. I'd expect both candidates are arming for this throw-down almost exclusively at this point. Everything else of everything else is in second place as far as impacting the outcome of the election and both campaigns are well aware of that.

Curious to when the opening clip of that was taped. I don't know how I missed Obama calling his opponents privileged. All the same, she's a nut and much the same as Obama pointing out his lack of privilege is a misdirection, so is trying to count the degrees of lunacy between Laura and Monica.
