Re: Yes We Can
So Deson, show me the inspiration behind the McCain campaign. Show me where he really connects with people and inspires them to join a grassroots movement never seen before in recent times.
Oh that's right.
This guy inspires nobody to rally behind him. Talk about a complete failure.
He claims to be the underdog. He's actually just a horrible candidate.
So umm...congratulations on backing the horrible candidate I guess?
Yesterday morning, our local Obama group began canvassing to get registered voters. First shift, 55 of us showed up. This is happening all over the U.S. now. Obama has connected with a majority of the U.S. in a way not seen in a while. Apart from the 3k permanent full time volunteers Nation wide, there must be tens of thousands of weekend and after work warriors joining behind Obama.
Out of the 85 homes I had contact with, 2 supported McCain. One thought Obama was running only because he wanted to be the first black president and the other was just a life long Republican. Neither of them told me they were voting McCain because of his position on issues.

Re: Yes We Can
Oh, here is the inspiration Deson. I found it for you. Here you can find all the inspiration derives from all his lobbyist ties. McCain is a rat, has nothing he truly believes in, and can't think for himself.

Re: Yes We Can
Deson, read the comments from the bloggers. You'll find some extraordinary stories about his close advisers. One I saw here that I've heard numerous times is Gramms deregulation of measure put in place after the Great Depression to prevent something similar from happening again. The recent mortgage meltdown can be partially attributed to this deregulation.
So, I guess if you like the Great Depression, you'll love McCain and his advisers. That should be his campaign message I think. It would be better than his current "Less Jobs! More War!" slogan he's running on.

Re: Yes We Can
I think the mindless cult of it all is beautifully illustrated by a lead-in to a Rolling Stone article: "Post-cancer, Melissa Etheridge finds strength in music, family, spirituality - and Obama."
In fact, the whole magazine starts to read like the short plot in a porn film before the editor completely starts sucking Obama's dick.

Yeah, Obama's "Peace In Our Time" slogan is hard to beat isn't it.

Re: Yes We Can
Krontak, you are why my serious distaste for Obama has grown into a more visceral disgust. The pro-Obamamites act as though they are proselytizing the unwashed masses into the way of their Lord. They spam every discussion house with pro-Obama news and denigrate all who disagree. If this is the shit I have to expect when the guy gets elected, I'm joining a militia because the collapse of the country into Obamacracy can't be too far behind. The guy hedges you suck his dick, reverses you take it in the ass smilingly while begging for more. He's not perfect, neither is McCain.
I don't even like this version of McCain I see but I place my confidence in his long substantial history of putting his balls on the block when it counts. Your guy had 4 years in the Senate, 11 total in politics, minus the war, why did he only grow a pair after the Dems took over? Where has he ever risked them? Where are his bi-partisan credentials? Everything Obama claims to be able to do McCain has done on that front and taken all the political fire for doing it. Your guy speaks, my guy does. I do not now nor have I ever agreed with everything John McCain has done past and present but on the whole of his career he's proven himself a rational politician that believes in efficient, effective governance. Proven is my key word here, what has Obama ever done but speak? Your guy came to the Senate, found it too hard and decided to run for president while doing essentially nothing. My guy found those same flaws but made the system work. What are you going to do when your guy finds inspiration isn't enough and doesn't have Edwards and Hillary to steal ideas from?
The congress will be Democratic so there is little chance in hell McCain is going to be "McSame". On balance in that scenario, I prefer to have McCain over the Messiah whose party will be in control. I saw that 8 years ago from the right, damned if I call repeating it on the left a good idea. John McCain was mentored in the congress by a Democrat, claims a prominent few as supporters (yes Lieberman still counts since his only Dem sin is the occupation) and has a history of rationale compromise with Democrats. Despite his best efforts to prove otherwise, he's nowhere close to Bush and leaps and bounds better than Obama. Oh and Obama's call to service? McCain has been saying that for years and offered a better deal for college students in exchange for government service. I guess Obama is continuing his trend of idea stealing. Change you can xerox, one candidate at a time.

So you don't like Obama because his supporters annoy you.
Its funny, the harder I hear people rail against Obama, the less sense they actually make.
