Because, before anything else, Vince McMahon is a marketing whiz.You could almost subtract "wrestling" right out of the WWE/WWF, replace it with dude monologuing in the center of the ring and calling out some other dude, a little fistacuffs that spill over into the crowd and scantily clad women and Vince would still be rolling in the dough.

Its the great American masculine soap opera.
