Default Cuban Missile Crisis II?

I'll take "Great George W. Bush foreign policy victories" for $1000, Alex!

I was already shopping for a pig ears and a snout for the obligatory second-bay-of-pigs-invasion party... then I read the article.

"Russia could aim missiles toward prospective missile defense sites and deploy missiles in the Baltic Sea region of Kaliningrad, which borders Poland, if the missile defense plan went forward."

Dude, Poland isn't even close to Cuba!

It's also not a crisis; Russia just needs to keep talking big or more of it's border will secede.

Yeah so what? The Cuban Missile Crisis and the Bay of Pigs invasion were completely unrelated. What's your point?

I'm not all about putting U.S. military along Russia's rim but they better damn well be aware of consequences for giving Iran nuclear means and then air defenses to protect them.

The Czech Republic is in central Europe, not a fringe border territory. One day Europe will be a federal nation...will the Russians then tell Europe not to arm itself?

When I spent a few months in Praha in '98 you could see the US dollars aggressively at work stimulating their economy and rebuilding the infrastructure. This plan was set in motion well over a decade ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it was initiated by Regan's administration tbh.

Yes.

Just like Israel, the sole nuclear armed nation in it's region, is telling Iran not to arm itself... And Syria... And then blowing up installations to keep it that way. Medevev (mini-Putin) is just pulling a page out of Israel's book... Something like Mugabe in Zimbabwe pulled a page from Afghanistan's book, except that he had the courage of his convictions to see it through.

Politicians give each other such nifty ideas.

If they think it will work against a superpower democracy then they should be glad the F-22 can't be sold for export. Although they will be outflanked anyway; Japan is taking a keen interest in NMD.
