It's a matter of economics and culture. After 40 years of psychedelics being demonized by the media and authorities (ie. you'll kill your parents or yourself if you take LSD) young people generally aren't quite so gung-ho to ride the trip fantastic.
At least compared to 30 years ago.
On the economics side: if you are a talented chemist involved in the drug trade why would you try and deal a drug that is in low demand and is costly to produce when there are cheap and easy-to-make drugs like Meth that are wildly popular by comparison. Follow the money.
Oh yeah and... the US government has psychedelics like LSD labeled as Schedule 1 drugs so dealing in it pretty much guarantees even a first time offender a life sentence.
