It's far from great. In fact, it's about par for the course for Frank Miller trash. Too much of his creepy fetishes (in Sin City, it was ball torture, in 300, it was men in skirts, and in ASB&R, it was whores), and awful dialogue.

Death in the Family would have been a lot better if it was Dick Grayson and not a fake Robin nobody gives a shit about. Good series otherwise, though.

My favorite Bat books period, super dark with a twist of detective comic throw back... "Shadow of The Bat" Esp 1-4 where battie gets tossed in Arkham! RIP that title did not last long enough.
