After attending my second voter registration canvas drive and third or so meeting here in VA I'm starting to realize how thirsty not only this nation is for a change from this current administration, but the entire planet. For too long, not only this country has had the feeling our government just doesn't listen anymore, but the entire world.

Of the two voter registration drives I attended, one being on the 4th, and over 65 this past Saturday for our towns drive, I just can't get over how many full time volunteers are here from other countries helping out. In our group alone, we've got one political science from Holland, another two from Germany, another Argentinian law student, yet another from Haiti. There are at least another half dozen more.

I'm kind of new to this but is this type of global participation normal in our election process?

Anyways, its great to gather with an entire room filled with like minded people for a change. November can't be here soon enough.

Honestly, hearing about foreign citizens working in this campaign makes me sick. It is absolutely disgusting.

No, Illuminator is right. Having non-U.S. citizens involved in this or any election is not something to be celebrated.

People think that if we prevent foreigners from influencing an election its because of bigotry and ignorance. In fact, the opposite is true. Outsider influences are what's created the problems we've had in the past. Obama's actions here prove again that he is not concerned with the overall condition of America, but instead, his overall appearance to the world. Americans are the only one who should EVER have an opinion of value in elections like this.

Look, Rupert Murdock, a non natural born citizen, controls FOX news, a global 24/7 news channel, Wall Street Journal, News Corp, New York Post, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on on a global scale.

Please, I don't want to hear your whining about external ideologies playing a part in our local elections. The time being volunteered by these international students is kids play compared to the influence Murdock has on our Nation.

I can sympathize with Republicans on this campaign. Having a candidate like McCain makes it impossible to fathom having a candidate that is not only extremely popular in this nation within your party, but globally.

In a way I feel sorry for you guys. I would probably whine all day too if I had a candidate as uninspiring as McBush.
