Stephen King Suffers from Diahrrhea of the typewriter, he runs on and out about some shit that doesn't need to be explained while not finishing some other things that he should.
Miscellaneous thoughts on some of his work:
Insomnia - Could fucking cure it trying to read it.
Eyes of the Dragon - Probably one of his best, too bad it's geared more towards a young reader
The Stand - Personally I liked it, the end was expected as it's some diatribe of good vs. evil that never ends
Needful Things - Another of my favorites, probably his last book that I really liked.
The Green Mile - Was fun to read this in 80 page installments, this was a good story.
It's funny how after Needful Things / Green Mile - The Accident mainly, but maybe Gerald's Game came out prior, unsure - his work went to absolute crap.
I didn't care for The Shining, or Tommyknockers tbh, too much of the aforementioned overdescription...
Most of the Bachman books were crap, only Thinner was good, and the only good thing about him writing as Bachman was The Dark Half brewed from the idea of it.
I really like most of Dean Koontz's books, but my favorites are:
Twilight Eyes
The Bad Place
Lightning
If you like Horror, let me fuckin' tell ya, that Richard Laymon is where it's at now, he's on the forefront of what I always thought horror should be, and he's not afraid to get gory.
Go pick up some of his books now:
Half.com / Books / Traveling Vampire Show
Half.com / Books / One Rainy Night
Half.com / Books / Bite
All of his stuff is fast-paced, down and dirty, and just killer. If you want a good thrill ride, Laymon is the way to go.
