I'm a fan of King because he can dig deep into description that teases the imagination but, you mentioned Koontz and, I just finished Watchers (again, I haven't read it in ages). That's a damn good book. Too bad every attempt at a film was such rectal leakage. I second your nod to Koontz there.

Not the first 2. 3 and 4 I remember.

For whoever mentioned his short stories, The Mist was fucked up.

But I don't really like those kind of books. I prefer Fantasy/Fiction types.

That was the movie. I thought the book just had them driving West and left it at that? Either way it and "The Long Walk" remain the only stories to have actually given me the creeps.
