Simple Assault??

So, I had the Army recruiter check my background in Mississippi and an Open Warrant pops up.

Now, with me mouthing "What the fuck" I call them up to find out just what exactly popped up. Simple Assault...they told me it wasn't violence but a "Verbal Confrontation"...

With that knowledge my mind goes "WTF?!?" again...

This was for some shit back in 1998 from a guy I don't even know. For the record, I did go to jail in 1999 and had misc. traffic violations since then and nothing ever popped on the computer....

Fucking Mississippi I swear...

I figured they were giving "passes" of some sort for some of that shit they need troops so badly.

Living here I can sympathize with your attitude. The legal system is fairly archaic and draconian whenever it actually does work. I've seen folks go back and try to get their life straight 8-10 years later have the judge lock them up for doing the right thing.

I don't even recall an incident that would result in something even close to this. But wtf, Arguing = Simple Assault??

Yeah, thats stupid. Judging by your posts here, you're not even a very effective arguer. I could see Addee being charged with simple assault for bitching someone out ... but not you.

I figure you are trying to be funny which is always cool on such a shitty workday.

However judging someones verbal argumentative skills based on their ability to argue via an internet forum is silly. I'm fairly talkative and can argue without shouting as good as anyone. However I have no desire to spend hours at time bitching back and forth with folks over the net. Well at least not unless I'm killing time while working.

Miroh, while this thing won't stop you from getting in the Army, or even getting through Basic and AIT, any outstanding warrants or court cases WILL make you non-deployable, which is generally grounds for separation from the Army. I'd get this fixed asap, if I were you.
