In case you missed it, the line-item veto is very much alive and well. They just changed the name.

Which seems to be a recurring theme...*cough*time horizon*cough*.

Time horizons? How's that work since the line item veto was about giving the president the power to line by line remove parts of a bill he didn't agree with?Time horizons, if I'm understanding what you're getting at, are nothing more than bills that sunset. I was actually expecting to see signing statements in there.

If you really believe this, campaign 2008 will be a very rude and disheartening experience for you.

I didn't need it. I'd go through and point out all the times I've stated my disgust with McCain v2008 but it would fill the page.

Yes, Bush has a habit of taking something unpopular/illegal/improper, changing what it's called, then proceeding with it anyway as if it's something new and completely different.

Such as line item veto = signing statements and time table = time horizon.

And for the record, I stubbed my toe on my coffee horizon this morning. I was on my way to dining room horizon to eat my breakfast, but realized I had left my glasses on the end horizon.

Really? Cause your response to my implication McCain would dissappoint was met with:

He's human so he's made mistakes and compromises but overall it's pretty hard to compare the man to anyone in the public eye- certainly not to the either dem running. The worst thing he's going to have to learn this season is to let surrogates and rabid fans do his punching for him-- just look at Obama.

Now in fairness, the highlighted part is an out for you. But a couple of months ago, you were pretty sure he was the real deal.

He still is. Doesn't mean I can't be sick at his tactics. Just about every time conversation has turned to McCain though I've stated that I don't his current campaign. On the road to the road to the Oval office and presidential things, real pols do pol things. The convention is my break point though. If it looks anything like the 2004 convention then I'm dropping out. Forgiving ignoring minor/stupid attacks is one thing, a week dedicated to tearing down another man is another entirely.
