Should have waited till the end of the year. Sox lineup doesn't scare me without Manny protecting Ortiz.

He wasnt gone at the end of the year. The Sox had an option for 20 mil that they were going to pick up. Thats why he demanded a trade, so he could use his no trade status to demand that the team that got him declined the option and he could look for a long term contract.

I doubt the Sox would have paid him 20, they like to cut old(er) players before they decline. I believe he has 2 years (@20 ech) of team-options on his deal.

You honestly think they were going to pickup his option? After he feigned an injury (the Sox even went as far as giving him an MRI that came back with nothing wrong) so he didn't have to face Chamberlain in game 1 of the Yankees series.

Or how he decided to tell a 62 year old travel agent for the team to do her fucking job while pushing her to the ground.

What? dude the guy was gone no matter what. the only decision to be made was was whether to stick him out till the end of the year, which would have meant being confident he was going to give it his all and play to win, and then let him or let him go now in fear that he was going to just sit and quit at less value. The guy was a cancer either way they just got tired of the bull shit plan and simple. He'll be in zebra stripes in no time.

Manny did not run out a single fucking hit, he just watched everything and walked slow as shit to first. Even Ortiz ran more than him.

Manny could hit but other than that he was a friggin arrogant prick and I'm glad hes gone.

What kind of asshole gets millions to play ball, gets the most applause at Fenway, then fucking talks so much shit and wants to leave?
