What would have been funny would have been if Obama said that about Michelle. The media and the GOP would have lost their fucking minds. Seriously, it would have been spun and milked for all it's worth.

Obama is in a party of pretentious asses who feel taking umbrage for others--offended or not-- is a moral duty. For Obama to offer up Michelle, there would have been charges of hypocrisy on par with closet Repubs. On the other hand no one gives a shit except said pretentious asses if John McCain at an All-American gathering, partakes in the spirit of the event. There might be something there had he seriously invited her to show off her puppies but since that didn't happen, trying to push against it just makes a person an ass.

Edit: Better analogy would have been cheating or otherwise sexually "liberated" Republicans. Obama very likely wouldn't have won in 2004 had his opponent , Ryan not been a Republican. Many voters just didn't give a shit that he was a swinger, they gave a shit because he was a Republican swinger; same with Vitter and Gingrich cheating on their wives while hounding Bill.

Democrats may be pretentious, but they aren't the prudes. Right-wing conservatives are the ones who have a problem with wardrobe malfunctions.

They aren't prudes but you're forgetting this is a party of women pissed Hillary didn't leave Bill. The Dems have their more extreme elements that want every slight avenged with holy wrath like when that one woman said "how do we beat the bitch!" What the fuck does a guy say to that when it's said how it was without looking stuck-up?

Repubs may have the "wardrobe malfunction" nuts who claim their kids were scarred by seeing a tit but they also are the party of men being men. Without an obvious sexual line crossing-- like actually making her show them-- those people are just going to laugh it off.

Ask George Will or any serious conservatives how funny they think it is.

Ask any devout Mormons or devout Christians or evangelicals how funny they think the presidential nominees wife parading around on a stage in beauty contest is.

As the strong devout Catholics how funny they think this is.

Ask every mom, single mother, professional women, that has ever experience any sort of sexism, if they found out they had just been offered up to some sleazy beauty contest, how funny they think this is.

McCain is going to slowly turn off his conservative base that holds family values in high regard with stunts like this if he doesn't watch it, no matter how the GOP tries to spin it later.
