Wait, so Team America didn't attack the Mideast at all? They never once hit Islam? And they never spent an episode beating the crap out of Jewish culture?

South Park spends just about every episode beating on some sacred element of culture. It is very hypocritical to stick around for 6 seasons of embedded insults to Judaism and Christianity and then flip out when they finally get to you. What they did to Scientology was actually pretty tame compared to the rest of the shots they've taken. As far as the stereotype, it was based on his music and his own persona. You're citing bullshit he didn't even say; don't play Krontak and start taking umbrage for shit that didn't even bother the "victim".

He could have quit any time for any reason yet waited 'til fair play got around to him, that was bullshit and will always be bullshit.

Catholicism/Christianity has definitely taken the worst beating by Stone and Parker over the years, but that is the religion of the vast majority of America so it makes sense imo.

And hell yeah they've made fun of Islam. They even had a two-part episode that made fun of people who were afraid to make fun of Islam!

After all the wild behavior and stupid claims that Cruise made in the media how could they not go after Scientology. If that bat-shit faggot had kept his religion closer to the chest nobody would have ever even gave a damn about L. Ron's cult.

Saying "jews are in charge of tv shows" or "have big noses" isn't anywhere near going after the "cores of faith and beliefs" of the mormon and scientology episodes, or the "all catholic priests are child rapists" of "Red Hot Catholic Love". Team America didn't touch on religion, It was about the terrorists, religion wasn't mentioned, and certainly didn't go into the cores of faith and beliefs associated with islam. Basically the same with the 2 parter about family guy, where the worst they said about islam was that people would get blown up if the prophet was shown.

Please, show me the episode where they go back through all of the basic jewish or islamic articles of faith and slam on them.

Showing moses as the MCP from Tron wasn't a slam on Judaism? I believe the reason that they did the "expose" on the core beliefs and tenets of mormonism and scientology was because there are many who aren't familiar with them. I mean really... before south park, how many outside of church of scientology members (or even those within the church who couldn't afford to donate enough cash to "unlock the secrets") knew that scientologists were so batshit insane as to believe that shit? I had a mormon friend as a child, so I knew a little bit about mormonism, but a vast majority of america doesn't know that they believed in a guy in the 1800's finding golden tablets only he could read.

I'm sure they could do an episode on the exodus from Egypt, the 40 years in the desert, and the 10 commandments, but really haven't those been done already? Aren't most americans familiar with their tenets? And as far as Islam, well they probably haven't bothered to read the Quran for research, and thus don't know enough about it to make fun of it.

I won't ever celebrate the death of another, but Isaac Hayes was a hypocrite of the worst sort for leaving south park, imo.

I didn't say I was bothered by it, I simply defended Mr. Hayes' right to decide he was. I have stated my awareness of what the show has done, and understanding of why it would be offensive to some, but that doesn't necessarily make it offensive to me.

I can take a freaking joke, it's easy because I'm not particularly religious. I don't require that everyone take every joke, like people say Isaac Hayes should have.
