I dunno. I give my husband a lot of grief for being a conservative republican. I thought about it after a while and decided to limit it to the occasional ribbing because if someone had such little disregard for my beliefs, I'd have to kick them to the curb.

I definitely don't agree with him politically, but he's a good man (possibly a misguided one at times.) He brings a lot of good things into my life, so I decided that my love/respect/whatever for him was more important than being right (which I am.)

Anyway, what I am saying is that maybe the money that he was getting for doing the show wasn't worth it in terms of his level of respect that he should have had for himself in the first place. If a prostitute decides that he's sick of going down on people, is he an ass for quitting? I guess some of his customers would say so. lol

The more accurate anecdotal analogy would be if your husband was a politician who helped pass all the anti-gay/minority/people legislation then, when the party hit something he held dear, he quit and called the party a bunch of assholes who don't care about anybody. That is why people knocked Issac Hayes. Over 150 episodes of group bashing and he only gets upset when it's his and leaves while saying what he did in the article I linked earlier. Had he just said it was too much it was one thing but that he took the shot pissed people off.
