I love the books.
They are extremely detailed, great reads, and basically keep you entertained the entire time your reading them.
Could a movie capture that? idk probably not, but i would still love to see it made

I also heard they canceled the third Lost Chronicles book, I was looking forward to that one.

Wheel of Time is one of the Best ruined fantasy series ever created purely because Robert Jordan decided to drag it out to make money . He dragged minute events across 3 books without anything happening purely to pump them out, and the characters were about as static as you can get. You could actually skip books in the series if you wanted and know exactly whats going on because 90% percent of the dialogue is the women characters arguing and establishing their "dominance" over other characters, and the plot never actually advances.

The only ingenious thing about the series, is the World itself and the plot around the fabric of time. The idea was wasted on Jordan however, who instead of using it to make a story like, Song of Ice and fire, he watered it down so long he died before he finished it. I hope they don't make a movie out of it cause it'll suck ass, and i don't want this guy making any more money off his half ass books, that suck people in and feed em shit.

Song of Ice and Fire and Wheel of Time, are not only different, there on a whole separate levels of detail including plot, characters, and just general depth. As far as history, i cant see how you an equate the two. Wheel of time is linear at best and Ice and Fire reads more like historical fiction rather than fantasy, its believable and offers much more historical background then the repetitive history, which is more of folk lore stories, that are offered in WoT. Events of the past have a much greater bearing over the world at hand, then the reoccurring history of Wot that just repeats itself over and over again.

So back to the question at hand, Wheel of Time Sell Out?

Comeon when you have something like 13 books about a world, 1 of them a prequel to a series you never even finished with no end in sight, and the books you have written are 40 percent garbage because you spread them thin. Ya i'm gonna go ahead and say a movie deal was the last sign of selling out.

There not making into a Movie George RR. Martain chose instead to sign with HBO. Its a full series each book being a season. The depth makes it impossible to make a movie out of but with the job they did with other HBO series they he felt a series would do the books justice.

IMO it was the best way to do it with the best possible group of people. Movie just wouldn't be fulfilling to anyone who read the books.

I wish i was smart as you, read em all including the prequel. My brother got me into sci fi and fantasy and has read almost everything and kinda acts as a screening device. He gave em to me with the disclaimer they weren't the greatest, but once i read something for that long i gotta finish it in hopes that the end makes it all worth it.......the end never came.....it never came
