More like, 'Hey baby- how about you put on your elf hat and slide down *my* vine?' imo.

Why, did he develop talent at some point? I read the two volume version of Magician years ago. In the introduction, he talks about how he was made to condense it into a single volume for the original publication. When I was done reading the whole boring piece of bloat, I couldn't help but agree with the people who made him edit it down. I sure as hell couldn't be bothered to read the rest of the series after that.

But I can't say people never improve. I didn't find Robin Hobb's Assassin trilogy very engrossing, especially the last book where everyone's wandering around in the middle of nowhere doing nothing for chapter after chapter, but the Liveship Traders wasn't bad at all. And Lois McMaster Bujold's The Curse of Chalion was a million times better than her first attempt at fantasy, so I suppose Feist might have learned how to write since he un-edited Magician.

Too much raping going on in Fire and Ice imo, gets old fast. Seems that stuff just makes the author horny. Also who the fuck cares about the sexual endeavours of some ugly gnome?

I read the Sword Books by Feist, and the Magician Books by Feist, and they were pretty cool, at 12 years old....

That was quite some time ago... nearly 20 years ago...

I've developed a bit more taste since then.

I ate glue when I was a kid, doesn't mean that I have it with dinner as an adult...

You can clip thousands of pages from that series wholesale and lose nothing. No plot, no interesting characters, no interesting character development. A movie might do it more justice than the books did.
