I have a friend that does this for a living - he used to post the before/after photos - it was amazing to me what people would pay for their vanity. In one case, some parents sent in senior and prom pics of their overweight daughter and asked him to make her thin. I can see people falling into that trap for themselves and their own vanity, but parents saying "my kid is too fat, can you alter her picture so we can pretend she's skinny?" She was a big girl, but not huge and y'know, sometimes you (or in her case, your parents) just have to muscle up and face the music: the glass slipper does not fit the foot, get some comfortable shoes that fit and move on.
I understand wanting to strive towards perfection, we all crave beautiful things to look at, and you see yourself in a mirror every day. At the same time, I don't see the point in decieving yourself or others about how you look and life - it goes both ways - thinking you're worse than you are, or trying to be something you're not.
